Newell and Wright introduced rail freight services in 2016 and the investment boosted the companies growth significantly. This service allows customers to move containers long distances whilst being conscious of their carbon footprint. It allows us to use our trucks to drop and collect in the local area and move more containers than ever before. 
 
In 2019 NWT introduced their own locomotive painted in its livery, this was celebrated with a naming ceremony at the London Gateway rail terminal.
 
The rail services have since increased to include 7 trains a day over 2 rail terminals in South Yorkshire. If you would like more information please get in touch and speak with our helpful team.

Masborough Terminal

The Masborough rail terminal has been around since the 1840’s. It is an impressive site, which operates 4 services a day to Southampton, London Gateway, and Felixstowe throughout the day and night.

Masborough has a central location close to junction 34 of the M1. The yard is very busy moving tonnes of cargo each year, increasing opportunities for the local economy.

Tinsley Terminal

The Tinsley Railyard known as the former marshalling yard lies on the boundary between the industrial cities of Sheffield and Rotherham. We chose to reactivate part of the site as a new intermodal terminal, receiving trains with DB Cargo UK in 2021. There are plans to further expand the site after this initial investment of over £4 million.

The yard operates 3 trains, day and night, all to Felixstowe.
